We had a makeup workshop with Micah. She did a session about Ingénue makeup and aging makeup for theater. For our Ingénue makeup, we first watched Micah do the makeup and learned how and the orders of applying it and some tips too. The order is foundation, powder, blush, powder again if necessary, brows, eye shadow, eyeliner, mascara, then lips. You apply it in this order because it is the same with painting where you start with the background and go to the details. Stage make up is to not wash your face out on stage so it should be more than street makeup. We also matched a foundation for our skin color. It is best if it is slightly darker than our skin color. I learned that it is better if you warm up the mascara before you use it. The eye shadow part was tricky because you had to draw a line in you crease part. In the future, I will make sure to put the foundation to my neck so it won’t look like I have two skin colors. |
For our old-age makeup, we watched and applied at the same time. First, we start with the highlights on all the lines on our faces. We looked into our eyes, between the eyebrows, around the mouth, and forehead. It was very fun to see everyone making faces to look at or lines on our faces. And then it was the shading. It was hard to apply the right amount of shading because it will not look like a shadow if you put on too much. We learned a techneque where you put some on your thumb to apply it on the jaw line up to the end of your mouth, under the cheekbone, and next to our nose. We also saw Ms.N put some shading color on the center of her knuckle, then blend it with the highlight color to age her hand. That was very interesting, and had a really big change. Now I know how to age myself. |
